How To Apply GelXtend

Step 1

PREP

Remove any polish before beginning nail prep.

Trim and file nails (white side of file).

Wash hands and use prep pad to clean and dehydrate nail beds.

Push back cuticles using wooden manicure stick.

Lightly buff nail beds (pink side of file).

Step 2

SIZE & APPLY

Select nail tips for each nail. If in between sizes, size down or file a larger nail tip to fit.

Evenly spread a thin layer of soft gel glue to the bottom half of the pre-buffed (matte) section of the nail tip.

Apply nail tip from cuticle line to free edge to spread glue evenly, without releasing just yet.

If glue feels hardened in the tube or will not come out, put the cap back on and place it in a bowl of warm water for 2-3 minutes, until glue softens to a gel-like consistency.*

*When exposed to cold temperatures during shipping, glue may harden. Warm water will soften it back to its original consistency.

PRO TIP: If the glue does not fill the entire nail or if air bubbles have occurred, remove nail tip, apply more glue, and readjust before curing.

PRO TIP: If too much glue is used and floods onto cuticles or skin, wipe off glue before curing and re-apply.

Step 3

CURE

Keep pressure on the nail tip & cure under the GelXtend LED lamp for 60 seconds.*

To keep the light on, ensure your finger stays in contact with the sensor.

*Lamp will automatically turn off after 60 seconds.

PRO TIP: For sheer color and design nails, cure 2x for 60 seconds. For darker ombrés and french tips, cure a second time upside down for 60 seconds to ensure the light reaches the glue.

PRO TIP: Rotate the lamp as needed for an easier application process and tightly fasten the cap for the glue to prevent from drying out.

My nails are popping off within a few days. What are some tips to make them last?

There could be a few reasons behind that, so here are the most common reasons and some tips to help!  

  • Prep: Make sure you are pushing back your cuticles and buffing with a rough buffer (included), not one that smooths your nail. The last step of prep should be wiping your nails with the included alcohol prep pad.  
  • Glue application: The right amount of glue, with no flooding around the edges, is so, so important; too much glue is just as bad as too little glue. 
  • You aren’t curing long enough: Make sure all sides are secure by curing the entire hand again for 60s, to make sure the glue is fully hardened.  
  • Nail application: Do not move while holding the nail as you’re curing, as this could cause bubbles.
How do I know if I am using the right amount of glue?

This process could have a learning curve for sure! But the perfect amount of glue is dependent on the size of your nail bed.  

PRO TIPS

  • Apply glue to the bottom 1/3 of the pre-buffed area of the nail, a little bit above the cuticle edge 
  • Do not press so hard when applying the nail tip; stop right when the glue reaches your natural nail edge.  
  • If the glue does not cover your entire nail bed or you see bubbles, take off the nail and apply more before curing.  
How long should I cure the nails?

Clear nails only need 60 seconds to cure, but the sheer design nails must be cured at least 2x. If you feel you used a thick layer of glue with a clear nail tip, we recommend curing twice to make sure the glue is fully hardened all the way through.
Is the GelXtend glue compatible with other Dashing Diva products?

No. The GelXtend soft gel glue is specially formulated to work with the GelXtend clear nail tips & pre-designed nails in the GelXtend product line.
Can I 'flash cure' before fully curing the nail extension?

No. Our product works best when you hold/press the nail for the full 60 seconds to ensure the best adhesion and long-lasting wear.
There is no perfect size for one of my nails. Can I trim or file it to fit?

For the clear nails, absolutely! For our pre-designed nails, be cautious not to chip away at the nail design; it might cause the gel layers to become exposed and wear away. If you are between sizes and do not want to trim the larger size, size down.
Can I re-glue a nail if it falls off?

We recommend getting a new nail from your set. However, if it is a pre-designed set and you are able to remove the glue from the artificial nail, you can re-use it. All nails are technically made for one-time use. 
I accidentally left my glue in a cold temp, and it froze! What can I do?

The glue cannot be stored in conditions below 32° F, but not to worry; just let your glue sit in a cup of warm water until it softens back to normal!
